Anita Espronceda, age 90, went home to be with her Heavenly Father early in the morning of Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Our cherished "Grandma" was born April 18, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to Regino and Maria Rodriguez Salazar. She attended and helped at St. James Catholic Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and adored grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her family and loved family gatherings. She worked hard on her plants, lawns and houses. She would remember the olden days with her brothers and sister-in-law and cared for her three nieces and nephew. She enjoyed Big Red, Fritos and especially barbacoa tacos. She will be remembered for her smoked turkey, mashed potatoes and delicious lemon meringue pie, but most of all her appreciation for what was done for her.
She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Adela Valadez and husband Joe, Adelina Amini and her husband Reza, grandchildren Anahita, Arian and Joseph, great grand-son Sage, her brothers Raymond and Crecencio.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 51 years Jose Espronceda, her parents, brothers Juan, Alex, Daniel, Frank, and sister Rita Herrera.
Visitation and Rosary was held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Wednesday, September 20, 2023 with interment at San Fernando Cemetery II.
