Arturo Rodriguez

Arturo Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into rest on August 28, 2011 at the age of 84. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 7, 1927, to parents Fernando and Maria Isabel Rodriguez. Arturo was a loving and caring man, who generously gave his time and hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fernando Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Olga Flores Rodriguez; daughters, Lupe Braid (Carl), and Yolanda Rodriguez-Escobar (Manuel); grandchildren, Desiree Castillo (Ernest), Felicia Carrillo (Francisco), Andrea Gallegos (Omar), Manuel Arturo Rodriguez-Escobar, and Analysse Escobar; great-grandchildren, Julia, Jeremy, Jocelyn, Jianna, and Gabriella; sister, Angela Trevino; brother, Angel Rodriguez (Olga); sister-in-law, Oralia Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive family and friends at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2011 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1202 S. Zarzamora. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II. The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided by Patricia Nava and Dora Leija, and would also like to extend a special “thank you” to all of the professionals from VITAS Hospice for their kind help.
