Born Jan 1, 1918, she celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family at New Forest Estates where she had resided for many years.
She was preceded in death by our father, Eugene C. Hernandez on August 16, 1991, and our brother, Eugene V. Hernandez on December 19, 2003. Her incredible life’s journey was filled with notable accomplishments too numerous to mention here. She was a nurse, a teacher, a professor, a missionary, a chaplain, a mentor, a writer, a student of God’s Word, a poet, a wonderful cook, a faithful prayer warrior, and most important to her – a faithful servant with the goal of spreading the Gospel. "I give, to Him Who gave Himself for me;
Who gives Himself to me, and bids me sing
A sweet new song of His redeemed set free;
He bids me sing: O death, where is thy sting?
And sing: O grave, where is thy victory?"
