Canuto Gonzales

Canuto Gonzales, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, entered rest on April 11, 2012 at the age of 79. Mr. Gonzales was born to Crescencio and Dolores Gonzales on November 10, 1932 in Austin, Texas. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Civil Service after 25 years of service. Canuto was a hard-working honorable man, devoted to his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jesse Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margarita Gonzales; their son, Fernando Gonzales; grandchildren; Fernando Gonzales, II and Matthew Gonzales; sisters, Hortencia Ortiz and Maggie Gomez; Carlos Monsivais, whom was like a son; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 a.m., to celebrate a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
