Christine M. Calhoun, beloved mother and grandmother; entered eternal rest on January 4, 2015 at the age of 95. Born on December 25, 1919 to Sam and Delilah Meeks in Alvin, Texas, she now reunites with her parents; husband of over 45 years, Elmer I. “Bill” Calhoun; and her 10 siblings. She is survived by her children: Billy Ray Calhoun, Delilah Faye Dunbar (W.L.), Don S. Calhoun; grandchildren: Tina Louise McFall (Danny), Christopher Calhoun (Jan), Daron Calhoun (Jana), Timothy Dunbar (Meghan), Tammy Neal (Cody); 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Services will continue on Monday, January 12, 2015 with an 11:00 a.m. Chapel Service and interment to follow in Mt. Sharp Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kimberly Heller and her staff at Jefferson Family Practice for her many years of assistance as Christine’s primary doctor, and Oncology Dr. Steven Kalter and staff of S.T.A.R.T Cancer Center for their care.
