Clora Jean Brown

Clora Jean Brown of San Antonio, TX went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 30th, 2022 at the tender age of 79. She was born in Manassas, Georgia on February 10th, 1943 to Donnie Mincey & Thelma Young – Mincey. She married the love of her life, SFC Thurman M. Brown in 1963 and they were married for 58 loving years. Clora attended St. Phillips College for Nursing and had a career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Methodist Hospital where she shared her love and compassion for her patients for 34 years. She gave her life to the Lord and was saved at an early age. She loved reading the Holy Bible, going to Church Services, Bible Study, Sunday School and serving on the Usher Board. Her last church membership was at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She had a passion for life and loved bowling, playing pinochle, cooking delicious meals, and her most important love was her family. She also gained many friends as she traveled the world as a Military wife. She was an active bowler and was a member of The National Bowlers Association, Travelers Classic Bowlers Association, American Bowlers Association, and Women Bowlers Association.

She was Preceded in death by her parents Donnie Mincey and Thelma Johnson; Siblings Leatha, Dorsey, Fenton, Cleveland, Earl, Causy, and Ollie.

She is survived by her husband Dea. Thurman M. Brown; brother Lavon Johnson; sons Rev. Kenneth Brown (Claudia) and Reginald Brown (Renee); daughter Kamala Brown; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Clora will be held Friday April 8th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Converse First Baptist Church, 9162 FM 78, Converse, TX 78109. The Celebration of life will start at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude services until the date of the burial, which will be held on Friday April 22nd, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
