Delia A. Martinez

Delia Ann Martinez, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister entered rest on November 22, 2014 at the age of 86. She was born to Florentino and Rosaura Alvarado on July 17, 1928 in Mission, Texas. Delia was a beautician and worked with the Nix Hospital for 5 years, then worked for Civil Service at Kelly AFB for 8 years. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9186. Delia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin V. Martinez and is survived by their daughter, Norma Jean Christesson and husband Kevin; son, Martin Martinez; grandchildren: Stephanie Turner and husband Matthew, Jared Rodriguez and wife Magen, Cassey Martinez, Adam Trevino and wife Joselyn, Megan Hargett; great-grandchildren: Nicole, Shane, Hunter, Briana, Addison; brother, Adolfo Alvarado and wife Damiana; sister, Ellie Gillon and husband Bernie; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
