Dora (Davila) Villarreal of San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully at her home on September 8, 2021 at the age of 92. She is reunited with her loving husband, Severiano Z. Villarreal, her son David, and daughter Gloria. She was the oldest of two children of Jesus Davila and Otila Lara.
She was orphaned at an early age, lived with aunts & uncles, and was challenged to complete elementary school. However, not being able to complete school did not deter her from being successful and accomplishing many things in her life.
She retired from Foleys Department store in 1991 after several years of service.
Dora was a devout Catholic, strong in her faith, and a dedicated member of Little Flower Catholic Church since 1967.
She was a loving and affectionate mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, cousin, and aunt. She also loved her long- term friends and their children. She loved to hear and tell stories, listen to music, spend time in her garden, attend prayer meetings, and pen letters to friends and family near and far.
Even in life’s challenges Dora tried to find the silver lining wherever she could.
She will be remembered for her kindness, willingness to help, and give to others as much as she could.
Dora is survived by Olga (Robert) Maldonado, Diana (Gilbert) Gomez, Orlando (Jackie) Villareal, Norma (Michael) Lenox, Roberto (Martha) Villarreal, Elizabeth Villarreal, Jon (Liz) Villarreal, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at La Diferencia Hospice - especially Vanessa Guerra, Rosa Guerrero, and the countless others for their help and support.
A visitation for Dora will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave., San Antonio, TX 78205. Zarzamora St., San Antonio, TX 78201, after which a committal service will occur at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78209 at 11:00 AM.
