Esther Olivia Monreal

Born on February 24, 1939, Esther was a lifelong source of strength and compassion for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Artemio and Josefina Madrid; her daughter, Melissa Monreal Zuniga; and her brother, Victor Madrid.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: John Henry Monreal (Kellie), Jack Monreal (Irma), James Monreal, Joel Monreal (Monica), Denise Monreal, Andrea Monreal Christiansen (Brian) and son in law Simon Zuniga. Esther is also survived by her dear siblings, Anita Ramirez and Armando Madrid. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Esther found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Esther will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A small visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10AM. A chapel service will occur Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 25, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories, 1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, Texas 78214.
