Fernando served his country as a Marine and fought in the Korean war. He was active in his community, where he belonged to many organizations such as St. Henry’s Mens Club and the CYO, where he served as the president and vice president, He also coached his own children and other children who were like his own. He was also a member of the Veteran Foreign Wars, and you may have seen him at his local VFW enjoying a Sunday afternoon. Fernando was a hard- working man and retired with more than 25 years with the civil service following his second retirement with San Antonio Auto Auction. Over these years he made many friends who turned into family.
Fernando had many interest, but especially enjoyed organizing the chartered football and baseball trips. This truly brought a smile to his face knowing his family and friends had a memorable time together. He loved taking his summer trips with his children to Garner State Park, where him and his beautiful wife, Gloria made many memories over the years. Another interest of his was always keeping his home well maintained, especially his yard. When passing by his home, you knew you would always see a well edged green yard and of course the spotless vehicles in the driveway. He will always be remembered as a giving and well respected, hard working man.
Fernando will be united in heaven with his parents Viviano G. Lopez and Maria Silvas; brothers Francisco S. Lopez, and Viviano Lopez Jr.
