Fernando F. Reyes

Fernando F. Reyes, beloved husband of 70 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, went to our Lord surrounded by his loving family at his home on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the age of 90. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Guadalupe and Aurelia Reyes, on September 7, 1921. Fernando proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII, during the Invasion of Normandy. He retired from the Swift Packaging Company, where he worked most of his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Fernando was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Maria Luisa; brothers, Adolfo Reyes and Gilberto Reyes; sisters, Margarita Mathis, Guadalupe Molina, Julia Ibarra, Carolina Rodriguez and Alicia Herrera. He is survived by his wife, Pauline C. Reyes; son, Fernando C. Reyes (Norma); daughters, Christina Martinez and Irene Rodriguez (Ernest); grandchildren, Fernando Reyes III (Carol), Jason J. Reyes (Cindy), Allison K. Reyes, J.R. Martinez (Lisa), Jerry Martinez (Terri), Ernest Rodriguez, Jr. (Somayya) and Gina Rodriguez (Tim); great-grandchildren, Peyton M. Reyes, Fernando Preston Reyes IV and Vanessa Martinez; great-great-grandchild, M.J. Martin. The family will receive friends at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers on Sunday, June 10, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home the following afternoon, Monday, June 11, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 Main Plaza (78205).
