Genevieve “Jenny” Garza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on July 25, 2014 at the age of 79. She was born in San Antonio on June 29, 1935, to Manuel and Genevieve Salazar. Following a 32-year civil service career as a secretary at Kelly AFB, she retired to be a stay-at-home wife and grandmother. Known for her beauty and charismatic personality, Jenny was an outgoing people person who made friends wherever she went. She was the perfect friend and neighbor—always looking out for everyone, most especially children, never failing to help any lost or needy little ones. Most of all, she loved her family who were the source of her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband, Apolonio C. Garza; daughter Sandy Salinas and husband Richard; grandchildren Sean, Kevin, Kyle, Shannon, and Patrick Salinas; brother Manuel Salazar and wife Eloise; sister Anna Marie Niedenthal, and numerous other dear family members and friends.
