Harry Alvin Winship, Jr., SFC (Ret), beloved father and grandfather, entered rest on July 23, 2014 at the age of 72. Born in DeRidder, LA on July 1, 1942 to Harry Alvin and Mabel Winship. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of service in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth J. Winship and is survived by their children: Paul A. Winship, Donna M. Blackwell and husband Johnny, David L. Winship and wife Diane, Vickie M. Pattengale and husband Jeffery; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
