

Lucille “Lulu” M. Cisneros, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother ended her five month battle with leukemia and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the age of 85. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 22, 1930. She will always be remembered for the strength, love, service, encouragement, wisdom, dedication and loyalty she had for her family and friends. Lulu was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church for 49 years. She was an avid bunco player which started in her family over 70 years ago. Lulu was in numerous bunco clubs and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lulu was a diehard Cowboys and Spurs fan. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur Cisneros, and son, Richard A. Cisneros. She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Cisneros (Dan) and Terry Cisneros Figueroa (Leo); granddaughters, Marissa Figueroa (Carlos), Lesley De Hoyos (Guillermo), Jamie Figueroa and Sarah Figueroa; great-grandsons, Gavin Ramos, Ari, Cruz, and Rafe Rodriguez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family extends special thanks to the staff of the Methodist Metropolitan Oncology, Dr. Anu Dham, VITAS Hospice, and especially our angels, Tina Tello (La vecina), and Elsa De los Santos who assisted and cared for Lulu at home. The family will receive friends at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 210 St. Ann St., on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 6:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home, Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave., the following morning, Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Christian Burial will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.
