Manuel M. Loera Jr

Our beloved father and grandfather, Manuel Loera, entered eternal rest on December 25, 2014 at the age of 75. A native of San Antonio, Texas, he was born to Manuel and Eva Loera on June 27, 1939, and is preceded in death by is parents; sisters, Eva Martinez, Virginia Leiva; and grandson Rodolfo Hernandez. He is survived by his children: David Loera, Mary Esther Garcia (Ray), Daniel Loera (Renee), Roland Loera, Roger Rodriguez- Loera (Monica), Yvette Loera, ; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Loera; and numerous nieces and nephews.. Manuel was a regular at Pat Obrien's, he knew the staff well and even had his special spot in the piano lounge. He enjoyed spending his afternoons with family or watching movies. According to his family, he was one of the best movie critics and they knew whether or not to see a movie based off his critiques. He attended San Fernando Cathedral Catholic Church for many years on regular basis, and within the last few years he attended daily. His presence will be missed dearly by all who knew him. The family will be receiving guests at San Fernando Cemetery III on Friday, January 2, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. gravesite service.
