Pete Centeno

Pete C. Centeno, 91, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. Born on April 29, 1934, in San Antonio, Pete lived a full and meaningful life centered around faith, family, and community.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Guadalupe Centeno; his sons Brian Donahoe, Mark Garza and Jacob Garza; daughters Rebecca Lewis, Deborah Centeno, Cynthia Ward (Brock Ward), Melissa Garza(Stace Sorrells), and Julyne Centeno. He is also survived by his sister Hope Barrera and her husband Frank Barrera, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Zenon G. Centeno and Sophia C. Centeno, and his sister, Sophie Cortez(Gilbert Cortez).

Pete was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where his faith was a guiding light throughout his life. He took pride in maintaining a beautiful yard, was an enthusiastic coin collector, and had a special talent for baking homemade pizza. He also loved dining out and sharing good meals and laughter with those he loved. Pete also took pleasure in dancing.

Pete will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the love he showed his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A visitation for Pete will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4222 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78227. A graveside service will occur Friday, September 19, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.

Reception to follow at St. Vincent De Paul - Parish Hall from 2:00pm - 4:00pm
