Roy M. Gallegos, age 66 passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Roy was born on September 3, 1957, to Ruben V. Gallegos and Frances Calderoni. Mr. Gallegos was a proud Army Veteran. Mr. Gallegos retired from the Fayetteville Police Department in North Carolina; he used to be a police detective. He belonged to the following organizations; The Knights of Columbus, DAV, and the American Legion. He loved fishing as well as working on cars. His family and friends considered him a great cook; he would cook breakfast for his brothers. Roy loved cooking menudo for his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Ruben (San Antonio), and Frances Gallegos (Lovelady, TX); brother Jesse Gallegos; sisters Rosie, Betty, and Linda.
Roy is survived by his wife Mirela Gallegos; children Selina Gallegos, Sofia Gallegos, Roy Gallegos Jr.; granddaughter Rene Willow; brothers Ruben, George, Bobby; sisters Yolanda, lisa, and many nieces and nephews.
Roy will be missed by those who knew him.
A visitation for Roy will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary will occur Monday, February 5, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 10:45 AM to 11:05 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
