Samuel L. “Bill” Thompson, entered rest on December 13, 2014 at the age of 95. He was born in Devine, Texas but spent most of his life in San Antonio. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army followed by a second career owning his business, Thompson Weatherstrip Service. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Marie Aleene Thompson; daughter, Betty Loper of Philadelphia, MS; son, Lee Thompson of San Antonio; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a member and Life Deacon of First Baptist Church in San Antonio, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, followed by a Graveside Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15 pm. Visitation with the family will be held 30 minutes prior to the church service.
