With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Victor Clair Quilliam, a cherished father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Victor’s unexpected passing on May 11, 2024, leaves a profound void in the lives of those who were fortunate to know him.
Born to Anna Mae Jung and James R. Quilliam on April 24, 1958, Victor’s journey was marked by love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. His presence illuminated the lives of all who crossed his path, and his memory will forever be treasured. Victor was preceded in death by his mother Anna Mae, father James, and sister Patricia, whose memories he held dear.
Victor is survived by his loving sons, Chris and Daniel, and his adored grandson, Zylan. He is also survived by his brother Martin, sister Linda, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Nieces and Nephews: Brigette, Edna, Martin Jr., Melissa, Monica, Penny, Ross, Samantha, and Terry. Great Nieces and Nephews: Andrew, Anthony, Brianna, Chris, Kaitlyn, Katie, Kayla, Lacet, Mila and Royce.
Throughout his life, Victor shared a special bond with his sister Linda, residing near her and nurturing a close relationship that brought them both comfort and companionship.
Victor's love extended beyond his immediate family to his numerous nieces and nephews, whom he adored dearly. His kindness, guidance, and unwavering support shaped their lives in profound ways, leaving an indelible mark on each of them.
During his working years, Victor dedicated himself to his work as a pressman at the San Antonio Express News. His commitment and professionalism were unmatched, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Victor's sense of humor was legendary, and his jokes will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who remember them. He had a gift for finding humor in any situation, and his laughter was contagious.
In his younger years, Victor was not only known for his humor but also for his prowess on the basketball court. He was an excellent player whose skill and determination made him a formidable opponent. Off the court, he enjoyed spending time at nearby taverns, showcasing his talent as a skilled billiards player and relishing the camaraderie of his friends.
Beyond his hobbies, Victor was a talented cook and a skilled mechanic. He could whip up a delicious meal from scratch and fix just about anything with his hands. His resourcefulness and ingenuity were truly remarkable. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
