

Apolonio Garcia, age 93, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Apolonio was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Mr. Garcia was a devoted and hardworking husband and father. For many years he enjoyed working as a truck driver in various states with his family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, boxing, watching Cops, and the Discovery Channel. He was charming, with a cheerful attitude, and taught his children the value of unity and perseverance. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fidela Garcia Arriaga; one grandson, Felipe Garcia Jr.; and one daughter-in-law, Imelda Garcia.
Apolonio was survived by his children, Luis H. Garcia (Paulita), Virginio Garcia (Maria C.), Javier Garcia (Imelda), Maria D. Garcia (Miguel), Apolonio Garcia Jr., Felipe Garcia (Lourdes), Teresita Garcia, Margarita Garcia, and Juan G. Garcia (Irasema); one brother, Raul Villarreal; 28 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Garcia Jr., Daniel Garcia, Javier Arriaga, Rolando Varela, Apolonio Garcia, Luis Javier Garcia, Jaylon Garcia, and Virginio Garcia.
A visitation for Apolonio will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 12:00 midnight at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM, located at 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The chapel funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Mota. Christian burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586.
