Charles Ernest Bothwell, 94, peacefully passed away at his residence in Harlingen, Texas on December 7th, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne Claire Bothwell, his four children, Robert, Michael, Tim, and Patricia, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Charles, “Chuck,” was born on February 27th, 1927 in Combes, Texas. He graduated from Carrollton High School in Ohio. He served in the Navy during World War II. After his service, he moved back to the Rio Grande Valley and started Bothwell Electric Company. He was an avid fisherman for redfish, trout, and flounder in the Laguna Madre for 70 years.
A Visitation for Charles will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, Texas 78586. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 1001 E Jackson Avenue, Harlingen, TX 78550 with entombment to follow at 10:00 AM at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
