In his earlier life, Ismael loved fishing. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time at the slot machines with his wife prior to her passing. Mayo's greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria F. Garza, and his sons, Jose Luis Garza and Martin M. Garza.
Ismael is survived by his children; Melquiades Martinez (Karmina); Siria Molina (Juan Carlos); and Christina Contreras (Ricardo) and his siblings; Viola Ortega (Salvador), Jose Ovidio "Pepe" Garza (Otilia "Tila") and Francisco Contreras, Jr.
He will also be missed dearly by his 15 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
A Visitation for Ismael will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta 26170 State Hwy 345 San Benito, TX 78586. A Chapel Funeral Service will take place Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM. with burial to follow immediately at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
