

Olivia Vasquez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed from this life on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 16, 1947, in San Benito, Texas, Olivia's vibrant spirit and tireless dedication to her family and community defined her life.
A devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a parishioner for St. Benedict church in San Benito, Olivia was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to service. She ensured her daughters and grandchildren understood the importance of their faith, often bringing them to church services. Olivia devoted herself to feeding those in need every Sunday after Mass, exemplifying her selflessness and compassion.
For over 45 years, Olivia served as a school bus driver, first serving a school in San Benito, Texas, then in Harlingen, Texas, next on to San Antonio, Texas, after that in Aurora, Illinois, and finishing her career at Greene County Tech in Paragould. Her love for children shone brightly in her work, and she took pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of every student entrusted to her care. In addition to driving, she generously offered her time to care for the elderly, showcasing her deep compassion and loving nature.
Olivia found joy in the little things, spending numerous mornings at the Waffle & Pancake House surrounded by her cherished breakfast coffee group. She relished indulging in manicures and pedicures and took delight in creating arts and crafts, activities that brought her immense joy.
Olivia is survived by her beloved daughters, Evalina Garza of Paragould, Elma Liza Gonzalez of San Benito (Jesse Moreno), Ernestina Fuentes of Paragould, and Elisabet (Juan) Hernandez of Paragould; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jose Sanchez and Jose Ramirez; sister, Maria Eva Torres, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and community service.
Olivia is preceded in death by her parents, Geronimo Sanchez and Juanita Reyes Sanchez; her first husband, Julian Huerta Gonzalez; her second husband, Jesus Fernando Vasquez; great granddaughter, Laekyn Jade Cole; sister, Olga Puga; and brother, Ruben Ramirez.
Olivia Vasquez will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. May she rest in peace.
A Visitation for Olivia will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM.
Olivia will be have a Funeral Church Mass on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie St, San Benito, Texas 78586, at 10:00 AM, with a Burial to follow at 11:00 Am, at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
