Born on October 5, 1944, in Kumamoto, Japan, Chiky moved to the United States with her mother, Yoneko Ueda, in 1956. Chiky had a lifelong passion for the arts, first as an art major in college and then as a prolific artist. Her artistic talents were showcased as a professional dancer for the Atlanta Ballet for over five years and as an actress and dancer for Theater Under the Stars in Atlanta for many seasons.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Chiky was a nationally recognized Tae Kwon Do black belt with numerous awards in national and international competitions. Later in life, she transitioned to the business world, forming Group C, Inc. in Atlanta, a highly successful advertising support firm collaborating with some of North America’s most prominent advertising firms.
Chiky will be remembered for her grace, strength, and extraordinary accomplishments, leaving behind a legacy that touched many lives.
A “Celebration of Life” for Chiky is currently being planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Chiky’s honor.
