David M. Scoular, age 77, passed away Tuesday, April 10, at his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. David was born in Lyndhurst, New Jersey on May 26, 1940 to Robert and Isabella Scoular, who had immigrated to the United States from Glasgow, Scotland. He was the youngest of two children.
After high school David served 2 years in the army and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston.
He worked for Western Electric, a subsidiary of AT&T, in New Jersey and transferred to Atlanta in 1985. This is where he met his wife, Carolyn. They were married on December 20, 1996.
David loved sports, especially baseball. He was an avid Mets fan until he moved to Atlanta. Then he was a loyal fan of the Braves. He was known by family, friends and neighbors as a kind man with a good sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scoular Sr., his mother, Isabella Scoular and his brother, Robert Scoular, of Charleston, West Virginia.
David is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his nephews, Mark Scoular of Charleston, West Virginia, and David B. Scoular, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, his sister in law, Barbara Scoular, of Charleston, West Virginia, his brother in law and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hunt, and nieces Jennifer Hunt, Emily Ziegler and Allison Skidgel.
A private memorial service will be held for the family on April 13.
