Dorothy Elizabeth Adams Knight, 89, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away December 21, 2019.
She was born on February 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Alice Dick Adams and Otis Hill Adams. She enjoyed teaching Bible Studies and History intermittently both as a professional and as a devoted member of St John United Methodist for over 50 years. She received her degrees from, Agnes Scott College, Emory University and Georgia State College. Her passion for education and teaching was enhanced by her love and talent for music. She served her church and delighted family and friends with her piano performances, even meeting her husband of over 45 years as his Georgia Tech Glee Club practice accompanist. Dorothy was preceeded in death by her husband, John R Knight in 2000. She is survived by three daughters, Alice E Knight, Jennifer A Knight-Boyd, Laura L Knight and one grandson, John Edward Boyd. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St John United Methodist Church, starting at 11:00AM with a short reception to follow. The family requests all remembrances be sent in her name to the music departments of The Georgia Institute of Technology or St John United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
