Ed was born in Buffalo, New York, on December 20, 1925, the son of Edmund and Helen (Partyka) Bilski.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Alice, and he is survived by his son Steve and his grandchildren Ian and Liselle Bilski.
Ed is a veteran of the United States Army serving in the late days of World War II and the early days of Korea. “Smiling Ed” achieved his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and embarked on a career in the burgeoning computer industry with the Burroughs Corporation, from which he retired in 1990.
Throughout his long life, Ed enjoyed marriages to three wonderful ladies, all of whom preceded him in death: Susanne Doehring, Susanne DeGeorgeo, and Willie Smith.
Ed Bilski was passionate about his career and his family, but more than that he was passionate about life. He loved people and he loved the world around us.
He spent quite a bit of his time travelling: meeting people, and learning how they lived and how they approached life. Ed appreciated the arts in all of its forms.
He had a particular love for music and was a fantastic dancer. He was an avid golfer for most of his life, and when it became too hard to track the ball against the sky he transferred this passion to bridge.
Ed Bilski was a good man. He was a good husband, a good father, and a good friend. He lived his life well, and he did everything in his power to leave the world a better place for his having been here.
