

Eilleen Anthony Paris-Poulos was born March 5, 1946, to Tony and Alice Paris, arriving 26 minutes before her twin sister, Irene. She grew up in Atlanta with her sisters, Irene and Rita, and her brother, Tony.
Mrs. Paris-Poulos was a retired Spanish Teacher with Fulton County Schools. She received a B.A. degree from Georgia State University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Paris-Poulos lived in Madrid, Spain, for a year studying for her Masters of Arts degree which she received from New York University. After teaching high school in DeKalb County schools, she moved to Washington, D.C. at age thirty and worked on Capitol Hill for ten years, first for Georgia Senator Herman Talmadge, then the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and the Select Committee on Aging. During this time, she graduated from the U.S. State Department’s Language School in Arlington, VA. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA, for nine years, employed as a legal translator.
In 1993, Mrs. Paris-Poulos returned to Atlanta, employed by Troutman Sanders LLP law firm as a legal translator.
In 1998 she married Victor J. Poulos, also a native Atlantan. Mrs. Paris-Poulos then returned to her first love, teaching. She taught at Georgia State University, North Springs High School, Peachtree Presbyterian Church, and Sandy Springs Middle School.
With an adventurous spirit and a love of travel, she made many trips to Europe, especially with her husband to their shared ancestral homeland of Greece. She also traveled to Jerusalem; Palestine; Israel; Australia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Uruguay; Puerto Rico; and The Dominican Republic.
Mrs. Paris-Poulos is survived by her sister, Irene, and her husband, John Pete Bagiatis; her sister Rita A. Paris; and her brother, Anthony J. Paris, Jr. and his wife, Rie Paris; two nephews, Pete John Bagiatis, and Anthony J. Bagiatis, Anthony’s wife Ashley, and their two daughters, Alexandra (Lexi) Paris and Ariella (Ella) Grace. From her marriage to Victor J. Poulos she is also survived by Mrs. Deborah Hamby and her pre-deceased husband Robert Hamby’s son, Victor M. Hamby; and daughters Wendy Washowich, Heather Ross, Reagan Cowley, Katie Hamby; Mr. And Mrs. Charles Hamby and their daughters Carrie Hamby Fuller and Lynsee Hamby Miller; and their families, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Paris-Poulos also leaves behind four godsons, Anthony Bagiatis, Ryan Bode, Christopher F. Day, and Alexander Hamby, and her Maltese Soula.
A life-long and devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, Mrs. Paris-Poulos served on the the cathedral’s Parish Council from 2012-2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may made to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation Endowment Fund.
Pallbearers include Ted Bode, Van Botsaris, Alan Bryant, Philip Bryant, Frank Day, Alex Hamby, Vic Hamby, Victor Hamby, and Andy Sparks, with honorary pallbearers Ryan Bode, Christopher F. Day, Coleman W. Day, Pete Giannakopoulos, David Harrington, Glenn Phillips, Monte Rawls, and Cator Sparks.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 2500 Clairmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA, 30329, (404) 633-5870, www.atlgoc.org. The funeral will be at 11:30 am., immediately following the visitation. The family requests all attendees wear masks during the visitation and funeral service.
