Gwendolyn Johnson Bales

Bales, Gwendolyn Johnson of Panama City Beach, Florida, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away at the age of 78 on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 9, 1936. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Bales; her son, Kenneth Eugene Bales; her mother, Pauline Trammell McDuff and her sister, Barbara Johnson Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Bales Little (Mike Little) of Panama City Beach, Florida and her daughter, Donna Bales Van Dyke (J. Bruce Van Dyke) of Cumming, Georgia. Additional survivors, include her grandson, Chris Little (Belenda Wade Little) of Hueytown, Alabama, Granddaughter, Brittany Little Anderson (Jeremy Anderson) of Albertville, Alabama. Granddaughter, Jessica Van Dyke Thrasher (Joel Thrasher) of Jefferson, Georgia and Grandson, Joseph Matthew Van Dyke of Cumming, Georgia. She is also survived by four Great Grandchildren, Kailey and Kade Anderson of Albertville, Alabama and Aleigha and Austin Little of Hueytown, Alabama. Funeral is set for Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 o.m.at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Highway NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will be in Sandy Springs Historic Cemetery immediately following service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of the funeral at Sandy Springs Chapel.
