birthday, December 22, 2024, in Roswell, Georgia.
Born on December 22, 1921, in Sandia, Texas, she dedicated her life to her family, which she proudly built with her late husband, Hoyt Nunn.
Joyce met Hoyt, an Army Air Force pilot, on a blind date in San Bernardino, California, in 1945, and they were married in 1946. Their journey together began with a cross-country trip to Jefferson, Georgia, where they spent their early married life.
They later settled in Taft, Texas, where they welcomed their first three children: Jane, Jack, and Johnny. The family continued to grow with the surprise birth of their son, Jimmy, in 1964. Throughout the years, they created a loving home in various Georgia towns, culminating in their final residence in Roswell, where Joyce became a beloved member of the Saint George community after Hoyt's passing in 2003.
Joyce’s family includes her children Jane Williams (late Wilmont Williams), Jack Nunn
(Robin Nunn), John Nunn (Heidi Nunn), and Jimmy Nunn (Kim Nunn), as well as
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.
An active socialite and proud pilot’s wife, Joyce enjoyed her time with the Eastern Airlines Pilot's Wives Association and loved playing Bridge with her close friends. Her humor and quirky perspective on life were evident in her memorable quotes, such as her candid thoughts on children: “The only thing wrong with kids is that they hang around the house all of the time. They never go anywhere.” Joyce Nunn will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her spirited personality, and her devotion to creating a life filled with laughter and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A graveside service for Joyce will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
