Born on November 12, 1929 in Spring Valley, Illinois Lucille lived a long and vibrant life marked by resilience, independence, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living.
Lucille dedicated over three decades of her professional life to Westclox, where she served as an Administrative Assistant. Her career with the company spanned many years and milestones, including a significant relocation to Atlanta in 1979. After retiring from Westclox in 2001, Lucille embraced a new chapter with characteristic energy and enthusiasm. Alongside her beloved husband Robert “Bob” Enders, she ventured into real estate near Lake Oconee, Georgia—a pursuit that reflected both her industrious spirit and her love for connecting with people.
Throughout her life, Lucille cultivated a wide array of interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a green thumb and took great pride in her garden and house plants. Her creative talents found expression through needlepoint and ceramics—crafts she pursued with care and attention to detail. A devoted reader, Lucille always had a book nearby. She also cherished time spent at the Sandy Springs Georgia senior center. She often mentioned her friends from the center and how important they were to her. Lou was also highly devoted to her Miniature Schnauzers, who were part of her life over the years.
Raised in the Catholic faith in Illinois, Lucille remained private about her spirituality later in life. Our family prays that she is with the Lord in eternity.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Enders; stepdaughter Cynthia Renner and son-in-law Rudy Renner. She is survived by her brother-in-law William Enders; sister-in-law Geraldine Enders; stepdaughters Constance Barton and Carolyn Williams, sons-in-law Ray Williams and Kevin Barton.
Those who knew Lucille will remember her as strong-willed and fiercely independent—a woman whose spirit inspired those around her. She had an extraordinary way of staying engaged with others’ lives, always curious about what was happening with “us,” a rare quality that made everyone feel seen and valued.
God rest her soul. We pray that she is with her husband Bob, whom she loved deeply and Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
