Ms. Norene C. Garrett

She was born in Brentwood, Pennsylvania and was the 4th of 5 children. She loved sports, played basketball in high school and golf as an adult. She began golfing when she retired and made hole in ones at two separate golf courses. She loved watching basketball, golf, baseball and football throughout her life, but most of all her beloved Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Braves.

She was a shrewd bridge player and belonged to several neighborhood and church groups. She was an active member of Dunwoody Methodist Church and loved her Crusaders bible study group. She was a self-made woman and excelled in the world of banking. She was a branch manager at C&S, Bank of America, California Federal and others. One of the highlights of her career was working for Bank of America at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics where she amassed a large number of Olympic pins through shrewd trading.

She is survived by 3 children, Scott Madigan (Claudia), Wendy Madigan Montrose (Larry) and Sherry Madigan White (Jeff), five beloved grandchildren, Mary-Scott Madigan Ong (David), Nathan Madigan (Kelly), Paula Sarkowski, Tim Sarkowski and Nathan White and 8 great-grandchildren, Mary-Kenneth and Peter Ong, Poppy, Lottie and Tripp Madigan, Leah, Allie and Timmy Sarkowski.

A memorial service for Norene will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mt Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or American Cancer Society.
