Norma Jo Harris, 84, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was peaceful and surrounded by family in her final hours. Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Sandy Springs Chapel with Elder Jason S. Solomon officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Atlanta on October 20, 1932, she was the daughter of Grier and Gladys Pruitt. At an earlier age than she liked to admit, she was married to Lyndon Harris, who was her faithful husband of almost 68 years. Norma was deeply involved with her church, Northside Primitive Baptist, and was the church pianist for over 50 years. She was not only a devoted and “overly organized” mother and homemaker, but also a businesswoman running Norma Harris Interiors in Roswell for a number of years. She enjoyed family activities, tennis, and assisted Lyndon as Executive Director of the Georgia Senior Golfers Association from 1987-2007. Norma especially enjoyed family cruises on an annual basis from 1993 until the last few years. She is survived by her loving husband, Lyndon, three children: Darryl (Michelle), Dena, and Joni (Tom) Beicher; four grandchildren: Colleen Harris, Julie Godshall, Jared Mills, and Todd Mills; and six great grandchildren.
