Patrick Joseph Finn

Patrick Joseph Finn III, 69 of Marietta, GA passed away December 30, 2010. Mr. Finn is survived by his wife Madeline Smith Finn, son Patrick Finn, daughter Ryan Finn Uptegraph, son-in- law Kevin Uptegraph, grandson James Uptegraph, sister Judith Finn Gibbons and husband John Gibbons of Long Island New York and their children, James P. Gibbons, Kevin M. Gibbons, and Jane Gibbons McDermott and their children of Manhasset, NY. Patrick is the son of Patrick J. Finn Jr., and Jayne Donahue Finn of New York City, NY. Pat was raised in New York City and graduated from St. John’s University where he played basketball. Pat had a successful 43 year sales career within the paper industry. Shortly after transferring to Atlanta he met and married Madeline Smith in 1969.

Pat coached his children and many other children in basket ball and baseball in the Roswell community for 15 years where he was loved and admired by many. Pat was an active member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in East Cobb where he and Madeline were among one of the first families to help establish the church in 1978.

The family will receive guests at the Sandy Springs Chapel, Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in East Cobb. Following the service everyone is invited to a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in memory of Patrick J. Finn, III.
