Richard K Hammond

Richard was born on April 8, 1934 to Kenneth and Kathryn (Rosencrans) Hammond in Hamilton, OH. After Richard graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952, he joined the Army before starting a career in Real Estate in Ohio and later in Georgia.

Richard was an avid sports fan and had a vast knowledge of many topics including history, politics, religion, and philosophy. His favorite sports team was the Atlanta Braves though he still cheered for all of the Ohio teams including the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Richard was predeceased by his Parents Kenneth and Kathryn, his Brother Gerald (Gerry Ann), his Son Barry (Kate), and his Wife Joyce. Richard is survived by his first Wife, Sandra, Sons, Mark (Mary Ann), Brian (Breck), and six Grandchildren (Parker, Sidney, Jackson, Caroline, Ben, and Anna).

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mount Vernon Towers Sun Porch on Saturday, August 6th at 6:00. 300 Johnson Ferry Rd., Sandy Springs, GA 30328. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
