

Mr. Robert Clark King, 78, of Sandy Springs, GA, passed away after a brief illness on January 18, 2014. Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. King attended Auburn University where he was active in the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. In 1957, Mr. King graduated from Auburn with an accounting degree. He was a devoted, lifelong Auburn football fan. As a commissioned officer, Mr. King was stationed for three years in Virginia. He had a successful career with Price Waterhouse Coopers as a CPA and retired in 1992. He was a member of Cherokee Town and Country Club. One of his favorite hobbies was golfing, which he enjoyed up until the time of his death. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances Ann King; two daughters: Pamela King of Atlanta, Deborah Hayes (Doug) of Leawood, KS; three grandchildren: Michael and Jamie Arledge, and Samantha Towery. Other beloved relatives include Lee and Rebecca Arledge and their children Claire and Ian; his brother, Jim (Pat) King of Rogers, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Tuesday evening, Jan. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Cobb County, 148 Fairground Street SE, Marietta, GA 30060.
