

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 21, 1939. He graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a proud Veteran, serving in the Armed Forces of The United States Navy from 1956-1960.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Mobley Strother, his parents James Clarence Strother and Alice Francis Strother, his daughters Cynthia Strother and Teresa Strother.
He thrived in many ways, with the cornerstone of his hobbies being his family.
Adventure was a driving force behind who he was, shown through his love of Fishing, Hunting, Logging, Traveling, and of course, his Wheelin 'n Dealin’ of Guns and Knives.
These activities, which brought immense joy to him throughout his lifetime, will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Even more so, the moments that we were able to spend with him while doing the things that he loved. Our time with him will forever be treasured.
He was a proud husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his son Robert Lee Strother Jr. (Vickie) and stepdaughter Elizabeth Mobley Ferchau (Erich), brother Jim Strother (Cynthia) and sister Bonnie Colagrossi (Jim). Grandchildren Jeanette Francis Pope, Robert Lee Strother III, (Mary) Kathryn Ferchau Knott (Jeff), Even Marshall Ferchau and Daylon Cole Strother. Great-grandchildren Abigail Pope, Colby Strother, Allison Pope, Hayden Lee Strother, Preston Strother, Lucas Knott, Jackson Knott and Madison Knott.
In honor of his passing, the family will hold a celebration of life ceremony on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3pm at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Highway Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328.
