

Sandi was born in Chester PA on February 6,1943. Her parents were the late William Ellis Bullock of Media, PA and Melceina Mae (Gerwick) Bullock Melton of East Liverpool, OH.
A unique and adventurous individual, Sandi was a younger sister to the late Barbara Bullock Hughes. Childhood memories included growing up in St. Petersburg, FL with rock and mineral hunting, digging for fossils, salt-water fishing, lifeguarding at North Shore Pool, and volunteering at the Lake Maggiore Nature Center. Her adult years found her a member of the Atlanta Ski Club, and the Georgia Mineral Society, while retirement provided time for Sandi's competitive nature while playing Mahjong, Bingo, and a variety of board and card games.
Sandi retired from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a Parasitologist, also selling her laboratory business, Parasite Diagnostics. Her contributions to the field of diagnostic parasitology were numerous and included many classes, seminars, papers, and textbooks. She graduated from Boca Ciega High School, Gulfport, FL, studied and graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College, St. Petersburg, FL, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL and obtained her DrPH from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
Sandi is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael Hughes (Lisa), Deborah Hughes Vance (Michael), and Thomas Hughes (Tracy); 3 grandnieces, 3 grandnephews, and 2 great grandnephews. She also leaves behind her first cousins, Otto William Giuliani (Jan), and Karen Sherwill Fincher (David), their children, and countless friends.
Sandi will be greatly missed and remembered.
