Stanley Green

Stanley Eugene Green, 83, died January 15 with family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Green, and his three children: Doug Green and daughter-in-law Sherry Green of Cumming, GA; daughter Gena Davis and son-in-law Swanton Davis of Sandy Springs, GA; and daughter Elizabeth Cassal and son-in-law Jess Cassal of Boynton Beach, FL. Stanley has five grandchildren: Aubrie Davis, Ian Davis, Sean Davis, Ava Green and Jett Green. He is also survived by his four brothers and sister: Robert Green, Tom Green, and Lee Green of Marietta, GA; Ralph Green of Birmingham, AL; and Frankie Wilson of Marietta, GA. Stanley was born May 17, 1927 in Tate, GA to Gertrude and Roy Green. He was the fifth of seven children. Stanley enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served in World War II on a mine sweeper. He attended Georgia Tech and worked for Whilpool Corporation as the manager of the Southeast Builder Division for 35 years. Stanley’s many interests included the Atlanta Junior Golf Association, Boy Scouts of America and traveling. Stan was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club where he enjoyed playing golf. Arrangements by the Sandy Springs Chapel Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends and family Thursday, January 20 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. A Funeral Service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Sandy Springs Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
