

He was born in Tampa, FL, to Stephen and Martha Nemeth. He graduated from Plant High School. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Memphis State University. Steve worked for Internal Revenue Service for over 25 years. He oversaw various construction projects in the Southeast Region including the construction of the new Memphis Service Center. After retirement, Steve helped friends and neighbors with home improvement projects, landscape projects, and however else he could.
Steve loved the outdoors. He was a devoted runner who enjoyed races of all distances. He volunteered with the Atlanta Track Club for many years. He was awarded volunteer of the year for his service in the Stone Mountain community. His hobbies included working on cars, home projects, and manicuring his yard. Throughout his life, he treasured his fast cars and motorcycles.
He is survived by his best friend, Therese; his twin sister Ann (Don); his nieces Jeranna (Bruce) and Holly; his nephew Brady; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Martha Nemeth, and his nephew Benjy.
Therese and Steve’s family would like to thank his friend, Kathy, who provided ongoing care and support.
Steve was always there to lend a helping hand to a friend, neighbor, and those in need. He never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his inquisitive nature, his love for music, and his friendship.
A drop-in Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dunwoody Springs Clubhouse, 6150 Dunwoody Springs Drive, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328. We will have light refreshments and an opportunity to share memories. All are welcome to drop in at their convenience.
In memory of Steve, donations can be made to the Atlanta Track Club in support of the Peachtree Junior Road Race.
