William Frank Saunders

William Frank Saunders, of Sandy Springs, GA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4th at the age of 84. Born in Little Rock Arkansas, he moved with his family to Georgia in 1963. He was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Sandy Springs, serving in many capacities including Treasurer, Deacon, Chairman of the Benevolence Committee, Chairman of the Transportation Committee, Nominating Committee, Building and Grounds Committee, Sunday School director and others. He served as a Communications Officer in the Navy during WWII, achieved his Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Arkansas and retired from a successful career at Western Electric. Mr. Saunders touched many during his life, and was a man overflowing with grace. He left a long legacy of friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his wife Golda, 2 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his brother Joseph Saunders, of Little Rock, Arkansas, daughter Jefflyne Potter and her husband Rip, son Richard Saunders and his wife Sherry, grandchildren Zac Potter, Hilary Potter, Shelby Saunders, and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday December 8, 2011 from 4:00pm – 7:30pm at Sandy Springs Chapel ,136 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 9, 2011 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Sandy Springs, 650 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
