

He came to California to work at the Hardison Dairy, and through mutual friends was introduced to Marjorie LeBard. Marjorie graduated in 1950 from Fillmore High, they had planned to get married on February 14th, 1951 but he was called to duty by Uncle Sam. After boot camp, he had a 14 day furlough so they got married on June 19th, 1951 and he left for Korea soon after. On February 12th, 1953, he was caught in the middle of gunfire and was hit by shrapnel (he was a medic), and he was honorably discharged, receiving the Purple Heart.
In 1954, Kenneth and Marjorie welcomed a baby girl on August 18th, and named her Robin Denise Orr.
In 1956, they welcomed another baby girl they named Rhonda Kay Orr, born on September 28th.
In 1959, a boy arrived on November 2nd, and they named him Kevin Dwain Orr.
Kenny was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and was in Toast Masters and on the Santa Paula Planning Commission for 12 years. He worked 2 jobs, Southern California Edison Co. and JCPenney's in Santa Paula, nights and weekends until they closed their doors in Santa Paula. He retired from the Edison Co. in 1988, bought a motor home and traveled with Mom for a while. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed his hunting trips with his son-in-law, Doug. He also went on field trips with his grandkids on boats out to the Islands. He loved being Papa Kenny and going to their sports games on weekends. He also took several trips to Alaska, he loved to catch halibut and tuna and he loved to eat it even better. He went back to Michigan to his class reunions a few times and rode the train one year and took his grandson, Justin Sigala, with him as they both enjoyed the one on one time together as well as the scenery they wouldn't have seen if they had taken the plane.
He was 91 years and 11 months old, 18 days away from his 92nd birthday. He passed away on February 21, 2022.
Kenneth Orr is survived by his wife, Marjorie Orr, 70½ years of marriage; oldest daughter, Robin Araiza, her husband, Douglas Araiza, and their children, Breanne Araiza and Devin Araiza; daughter, Rhonda Tryer, her husband, Eddie Tryer, and their sons, Jason Sigala, Jaime Sigala, Justin Sigala, and Justin Tryer; son, Kevin Orr, and his children, Keagan Orr, Kolin Orr, and Keyana Orr.
Great grandchildren: Kayla Sigala (Jason's daughter); Amy, Alina, Ava, Ayla, and Alex (deceased) Sigala (Jaime and Marissa's daughters and their son); Richard, Jacob, and Eli Sigala (sons of Justin and Lori Sigala); Brayden, Ryan, and Andrew (sons of Justin and Kelly Tryer).
Services were held March 16th, 2022 at 2pm at the Santa Paula Cemetery.
