Agnes Day – a 95 year-old native of Carmichael, Mississippi and resident of Semmes passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Mrs. Day retired from Springhill Medical Center as an Operating Room Technician after 48 years of Service. She brought warmth to those in recovery and healing. Working in the operating room was her passion and she loved the doctors and nurses like family. Affectionately known as “Biggie,” Mrs. Day was a born again Christian who loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Crawford Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for the family, tending to her flowers, working in her yard, and spending time with children. Her smile lit up the room.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jerry David Day; daughter, Josie May Day,; great-granddaughter, Victoria Wilhoit; great, great-granddaughter, Shiloh Wyatt; and 13 siblings. Mrs. Day is survived by her children, Marilyn Baldwin (Mike), David Day (Susan), and Karen Pridgen (Darrell); two siblings; 9 grandchildren,; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-11 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
