Annie Loraine Lolley Barefield, age 83, of Chickasaw, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Annie was born March 23, 1937 in Pleasant Hill, Alabama. Loraine was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to many.
Loraine spent many years as a Bookkeeper/Secretary in the Mobile County Public School System (Chickasaw Elementary & Clark Magnet School). She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Chickasaw and volunteered in the Church and local schools after retiring from the school system. She was presented with the Volunteer of The Year Award in 2006 for her service at Chickasaw Magnet School.
Loraine was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Barefield Sr.; her parents, James & Eula Mae Lolley; a sister, Beatrice Lolley Couch; and a brother, Odell Lolley.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (John) Owen; a son, Kenneth (Vicki) Barefield Jr.; a granddaughter, Laura Owen; two brothers, Wayne (Dottie) Lolley and Joe (Mary Jean) Lolley; two dear friends, Betty Easley and Janice Atwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A graveside service for Loraine will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Brightwater Cemetery, 8766 Brightwater Rd, Needham, Alabama 36915 followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in her memory to New Horizon Baptist Church, 7688 Spanish Fort Blvd., Suite B, Spanish Fort, Alabama 36527.
