Betty Jean Phillips Grantham, age 73, of Chunchula, Alabama passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Betty was born December 24, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to Annie Belle Bennett Phillips and Ernest Leroy Phillips, Sr.
Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Paige Watson and Dylan Talbot; brothers, Gerald Phillips (Virginia), Robert "Bobby" Phillips (Bonnie), and Ernest Leroy Phillips, Jr. (Martha); cousin, Melinda Holt; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Grantham; son, John Watson; father, Ernest Leroy Phillips, Sr.; mother, Annie Belle Bennett Phillips; sister, Shirley Ann Newell; and brothers, Dennis Phillips and Joseph "J.W." Phillips.
A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Georgetown Assembly of God, 9436 Wilmer Georgetown Rd, Wilmer, Alabama 36587. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Georgetown Assembly of God, 9436 Wilmer Georgetown Rd, Wilmer, Alabama 36587. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, Alabama 36613.
