Mrs. Betty Ann Sweeney Stanford – a native of Mobile, AL and a longtime resident of Whistler, AL, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in a local hospital. Mrs. Stanford was a member of Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parker O’Dell Stanford. She is survived by four children, Charles E. Stanford of Whistler, AL, Karin Stanford (William, Jr.) Hassell of Chickasaw, AL, James Mike Stanford of Whistler, AL, and Steven M. (Lanna) Stanford of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Patricia Childress of Silverhill, AL and Mary (Ted) Davis of Catherine, AL; her grandchildren, Kristie A. Wilkerson, Terra Wilkerson (Richard) Villar, Kaylyn Leigh Stanford, Brittany Nicole Bookout, Jasmine Vaughn, and Nathan Parker Villar; her beloved dog, Smokey; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church.
