Bill W. Raines

Bill W. Raines, of Satsuma, entered into rest Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home. He was 79. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Oak Grove Chapel, Saraland. Interment will follow at Satsuma Cemetery. Rev. Mike May will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Raines was a member of Satsuma First Baptist Church and Howard E. Blackwell Lodge #899. He was a mechanic for 37 years at Scott Paper Company and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved daily walks and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Parker Raines and Mary Dewberry Raines, and a daughter, Janet Raines.

Mr. Raines is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary “Honey” Raines, three children, Tony (Vanessa) Raines of Semmes, Jane Raines of Satsuma, and Terry (Janet) Raines of Orange Beach, a sister, Jo Marilyn Butts of Satsuma, six grandchildren, Derek (Bailey) Raines, Haley Raines, Jaeda (Steven) Simpson, Chelsea Raines, and Jace Raines, two great-grandchildren, Lawson Raines and Liam Mitchell, and the family pet, Happy.
