Billy F. Burt

Mr. Billy F. Burt, age 85, a native of Conecuh County, Alabama and resident of Chickasaw, Alabama died on Thursday, September 25, 2014. He was a longtime member of West Chickasaw Baptist Church, served in the US Navy, retired from International Paper Company after 33 years of service, and was a member of the Bowen Masonic Lodge #240 F & AM. He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing and hunting. Mr. Burt was preceded in death by his son in law, Ric Oates. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary A. Burt; children, James R. (Tomi) Burt, Carol B. Oates , William F. (Peggy) Burt; brother, Kennon (Sue) Burt; sister, Betty Sue Griffin; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many special friends. Mr. Burt was a beloved husband, father and Paw Paw. Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:30 AM in Bermuda Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Radney Saraland. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to the hospice team and all caregivers for their dedication over the last several months.
