

Mr. Bobby Ray Overstreet born January 14, 1934 in St. Stephens, Alabama to Hattie Adell and Frank William Overstreet. He was the youngest son of six surviving children: Frank Jr. Overstreet, Grace Overstreet Miller, Sampson Thomas Overstreet and Lucille Overstreet. Harvison. The family moved around to different parts of Alabama following work. Eventually settling in and around the Mobile area. Bobby had the opportunity to finish through the 8th grade in his education before having to take on work full time. Drafted in 1954 to serve in Korean War, he spent a year and a half in Seoul, South Korea. His previous work experience driving large trucks landed him the opportunity to drive a truck delivering supplies for the army. When returning home in 1956 and spent 6 years in the reserves. Following his father's and brothers leads in business opportunities, Bobby utilized his skills driving large trucks, whether in the form of dump trucks or transfer trailers, operating heavy equipment, owning a landscaping business, or operating a dirt pit. In 1967, Bobby married Levada Yvonne Sullivan. He became step father to her son, Darrell Noah Brantley, and they had two daughters together, Pamela Yvette (1970) and Angela Gail (1980). They built a house in Eight Mile where he resided until he had to be moved to the care of Lynwood Nursing Home in 2013. Mr. Overstreet was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his wife Yvonne. He is survived by his two sisters, Grace Miller and Lucille Harvison; his three children, Darrell Brantley, Pam Overstreet, and Angela (Jeremy) Hunter; Grandchildren, Haley Brantley, Emily Grace Hunter, Ella Claire Hunter, and Nolan Hunter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lynwood for their care of Mr. Overstreet.
