Carol Sue Swann

Mrs. Carol Sue Batson Swann, age 83, longtime resident of Satsuma, AL passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pascal Allen and Velma Wyatt Batson and step-mother, Herselete Batson. She was a 1951 graduate of Arlington High School, Poughkeepsie, NY, attended Perkinston Junior College and was a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi. She was the author of four cookbooks and enjoyed music. She was a former member of Meyers Memorial Baptist Church in Eight Mile and was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Mobile. Mrs. Swann is survived by her husband, Walter G. Swann, Jr. and her children and step-children; Heather Slay James, Floyd Leslie Slay, III, Grady Swann, Robert Swann and Lamar Swann. She is also survived by her sister, Shelby Cradle Phelan, brother, Robert Allen Batson, grandchildren; Celia Eden James, William T. James, III, Taylor Sullivan Slay, Walter Grady Swann, IV, Travis J. Swann, Dillion Swann, Megan Swann, Robert H. Swann, Jessica Swann and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church,21310 Cody Road from 10:00 until 11:00 on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Graveside services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens starting at 11:30.
